About me
As the K-12 Mathematics Administrator for Jordan School District, I am passionately dedicated to advancing high-quality, student-centered, problem-based math instruction. I firmly believe that all students have the potential to excel in grade-level mathematics. My approach is founded on the principle that mathematics should be a journey of sense-making, rather than mere rote memorization. I am committed to fostering an environment where students actively engage with mathematical concepts, forging connections and understanding the 'why' behind the 'how'.
Mathematics is not to be dreaded, but to be explored with wonder and discovery. My goal is to instill a sense of joy in learning math, transforming classrooms into spaces of curiosity, excitement, and intellectual growth. In my role, I leverage evidence-based pedagogical strategies to drive this transformation, drawing from diverse educational philosophies to ensure that my leadership engages, challenges, and inspires. My commitment extends beyond teaching formulas and equations; I aim to nurture problem solvers, critical thinkers, and lifelong learners.
